Ordering Products

 

Placing an order on our site is fast and convenient. Use Quick or Advanced Search to find the parts you need. Add them to your shopping cart and when you are ready to complete your order click "Checkout".

You'll be asked for billing and shipping information. If you've purchased on our website before, most of the information will be filled in already.

After you submit your order, you'll receive an order confirmation notice at your email address. You can visit the Order Status/History page to check the status of your order at any time.

How do I place an order on element14.com?

Placing an order on element14.com is easy. Follow these steps:

  • You must be in the element14 store (http://my.element-14.com) to purchase products from element14
  • Search for the items you need. When you find the product you need, add it to your shopping cart using the "Buy" button.
  • In the shopping cart, click "Proceed to Checkout" when you're done shopping.
  • Complete the required information in the Checkout section.
  • Place your order by clicking "Submit Order" on the Review Order page.

How do I add an item to my cart?

If you have found the item in search results, click the "Buy" icon in the Quantity column. If you're viewing a part detail page, enter the quantity in the buy field and click the "Buy" icon. You'll see the item placed in your cart.

To initiate a new search, input your search criteria in the search box at the top of the page, and click "Find".

How do I delete an item from my cart?

In the shopping cart, check the Delete box next to the item and click "Delete".

What are order minimums and multiples?

Certain products like resistors or cable come in reels or packs of set length or quantity. They are not available for sale in quantities below certain levels because it is not economical to package them in smaller quantities.

How do I tell if inventory is available for a part?

Search for the part you're interested in. In the search results, the Availability column displays the amount currently in stock.

What is a product lead time?

When high demand for a product results in it being out of stock, we will provide an estimate of how long it will be before we expect additional inventory from the manufacturer to be available for shipment to customers.

What does it mean when a part is backordered?

Occasionally, demand for certain electronic parts is so great that industry-wide shortages emerge and we are temporarily unable to keep them in inventory. In that situation, we will advise you of expected waiting time for delivery and offer substitute or similar items as an alternative.

Can I schedule orders on the element14 website?

Yes. During the checkout process you can schedule orders for future shipments. View your scheduled orders under Order Status & History in My Account.

You can view your cart by clicking the shopping cart link, which is found on the top right of every page of the website.

How do I print a copy of my order?

On the Order Review page, click "Print Page" to view your order in a format which is easy to print. Click "Print Page" to print the page. When you're finished, click "Close this Window". When you return to the Order Review page, click "Submit Order". Your order is not submitted until the "Submit Order" button has been clicked. You can also print a copy of your order after submitting the order. Click "Print Page" on the Order Confirmation page to view your order in a format which is easy to print. Click "Print Page" to print the page. When you're finished, click "Close this Window".

What type of order confirmation will I receive?

We will send an order confirmation to the email address you provided us. The order confirmation will contain the order number and a list of the parts you purchased along with prices and quantities. You will also receive a shipping notice once your order is shipped.

Where's my order?

You can access information on your order history from the past 13 months in the My Account area. If you need information on an order that isn't shown, please call 1800 88 6223 (toll free).

Click the P.O. number of the order. You'll see the tracking number for each line item in order details.

Can I save my shopping cart and complete my order later?

Yes. In the shopping cart, you can save your cart by entering the name of your choice in the Save Cart field, then click "Save Cart". The saved cart is then available in My Account.

How do I buy the items in my saved cart again?

Go to My Account and access Saved Carts. Find the cart that contains the items you want. Check the "Add to current shopping cart" box next to the cart and click "Update". The items will be copied into your current shopping cart.

How long will my saved cart be stored?

We'll store your saved carts indefinitely as long as they've been accessed in the past 12 months. Carts that have not been accessed in the past 12 months will be deleted automatically.

How do I delete a saved cart?

In the List of Saved Shopping Carts, check the Delete box of the cart you want to delete. Then click "Update".

We need to link your cart to your username so that you can retrieve your cart later.

Can I add notes to items in my shopping cart?

Yes. In the shopping cart, use the Line Notes field to enter information to help you or your staff. Line notes will appear on all the order packing slips. Keep in mind that line notes are only for use by you and your company internally.

How can I use line notes?

You can use line notes to simplify your internal receiving processes. For example, you can type in your internal part number for each item in the Notes field and then save your cart. The next time you reorder using the saved cart, the link between your internal part number and element14's part number will already be defined. The receiver of the shipment won't have to do the research again.
