HI-6421-02

HI-6421-02 is an advanced benchtop dissolved oxygen meter featuring a large touchscreen display and optical probe compatibility for accurate freshwater and saltwater measurements. It includes the HI7641133 optical dissolved oxygen probe (opdo®), which uses fluorescence quenching technology to determine dissolved oxygen concentration. An immobilized platinum-based luminophore is excited by a blue LED and emits red light; the presence of oxygen reduces the intensity and lifetime of this luminescence. These changes are detected by a photodetector and converted into precise dissolved oxygen readings. The probe is equipped with Smart Caps (HI764113-1) that lock securely into place and contain preloaded calibration coefficients, automatically transmitted to the probe for quick setup and reliable performance. A built-in reference signal compensates for optical component aging, ensuring long-term measurement stability, accuracy, and reduced maintenance requirements.
