Product Information
Product Overview
AD5696 is a quad, 16bit nanoDAC+with I2C interface. It incorporates a power-on reset circuit and an RSTSEL pin; the RSTSEL pin ensures that the DAC outputs power up to zero scale or midscale and remains at that level until a valid write takes place. The parts contain a per-channel power-down feature that reduces the current consumption of the device in power-down mode to 4μA at 3V. Typical applications are digital gain and offset adjustment, programmable attenuators, process control (PLC I/O cards), industrial automation, data acquisition systems.
- High drive capability is 20mA, 0.5V from supply rails
- User-selectable gain of 1 or 2 (GAIN pin), reset to zero scale or midscale (RSTSEL pin)
- 1.8V logic compatibility, 400KHz I2C-compatible serial interface
- 4 I2C addresses available, low glitch is 0.5nV-sec, low power is 1.8mW at 3V
- Relative accuracy is ±2LSB typ (Gain=2, VDD=2.7V to 5.5V; VREF=2.5V)
- Differential nonlinearity is ±1LSB maximum (guaranteed monotonic by design)
- Zero-code error is 0.4mV typical (all 0s loaded to DAC register)
- Offset error drift is ±1μV/°C typ (VDD=2.7V to 5.5V; VREF=2.5V; 1.62V ≤ VLOGIC ≤ 5.5V)
- 16-lead TSSOP package
- Temperature rating range from -40°C to +105°C
